Lauren Weingarten

Lauren Weingarten (she/her) is a survivor, credentialed victim advocate, certified trauma support specialist, and community builder. She is the voice and founder of MTMV Community Support Network, one of the first social media-based support communities established for survivors & supporters of survivors. Her work has shaped how we talk about trauma and sexual violence online. She is passionate about community as justice and leading conversations surrounding mental health, trauma, and survivor-informed care.

Lauren works both directly with survivors and their supporters leading support groups, workshops, and trainings. As a consultant, she works with many organizations and institutions that serve the survivor community. She created the MTMV Community Support Network to build and foster community amongst survivors and their supporters.

Lauren in grateful for all those who have paved the way so she can do this work. She acknowledges the labor, passion, and fortitude for the many who have come before her. Black women have been at the forefront of this work from the beginning and we would not be here without them. Special shout out to Recy Taylor, Tarana Burke, and Dr. Nadine Burke-Harris.
